Darryl Williamson of Rocanville,
Saskatchewan (with Craig Kaeding, Scott Soyka, and Claire Decock) won
the men's title in the AGRICORE UNITED OILTOWN CLASSIC in Virden, and
Liza Park of Brandon won the women's division.
Williamson beat Kevin Cooley of Brandon 8-6 in the final, earning $4,000
while Cooley picked up $2,000. Graham Freeman of Virden and Barry Rabe
of Brandon lost in the semi-finals, worth $1,250 apiece. Brent Strachan
of Hamiota earned $500 by winning the consolation event.
Park (with Jamie Coxsworth, Rhonda Fowler and Heather Mowat) defeated
Sherry Ferguson of Brandon 7-5 in the women's final, earning $1,000,
while Ferguson picked up $500. Roxanne Freeman of Virden won the
consolation event, worth $100.
