November 15, 2005

Gerald Shymko, the "friendly giant" from Calder, Saskatchewan, (supported by Aryn Schmidt, Ryan Sveinbjornson, and Steve Slupski) won the WHITES' DRUG STORE CLASSIC in Swan River, beating Vic Peters of Winnipeg Valour Road (with son Daley Peters, and Chris and Denni Neufeld on the front end) 7-6 in last night's final (Nov.14th).

The Shymko team earned $11,500 in topping a 28-team field. Peters received $6,500, while losing semi-finalists Dave Boehmer of Petersfield and Steve Laycock of Saskatoon picked up $4,500 apiece. Losing in the quarter finals was worth $3,500 each to Dave Smith of Valour Road, Brent Scales of Swan River, Allan Lyburn of Brandon, and David Hamblin of Morris (eight qualifiers).

November 14, 2005

In Swan River, the eight qualifiers for today's (Monday, Nov.14th) playoff round were finalized last night (Sunday). Dave Boehmer of Petersfield, Gerald Shymko of Calder, Saskatchewan, Vic Peters of Valour Road, and Steve Laycock of Saskatoon were joined by C-Group teams Allan Lyburn of Brandon, Dave Smith of Valour Road, Brent Scales of Swan River, and David Hamblin of Morris who made it on the late draw.

 

Novmeber 12, 2004

Brad Heidt of Kerrobert, SK defeated Gerry Adam of Yorkton, SK to win the 7th Annual White's Drug Store Classic 9 to 5.  Heidt picks up $12,000 for the championship while runner up Adam picks up $7,000.

Dan Kammerlock of Valour Road and Dave Smith of St. Vital ($5,000 each) lost in the semi-finals, while David Hamblin (Morris), Graham Freeman (Virden), Allan Lyburn (Brandon) and Pete Fenson of Bemidji, Minnesota, USA all lost in the quarter-finals.  Each of the quarter-finalists picked up $4000 (32 teams - eight quailfiers)
