Kelly Skinner's home town foursome (with Darcy Hayward, Dale Wallace, and Trevor Taylor) won the men's division of the GUILD INSURANCE BROKERS OCTOBER CLASSIC (Sunday, Oct.23rd) at the Brandon Curling Club.

Skinner earned $3,200 in the final in an 8-end Skins Game format, topping Don Spriggs of Portage (with Dean Moxham, Barry Pugh, and Dale Michie), who received $1,800. Both teams won four skins, but Skinner clinched the victory by winning the pivotal final end.

In the Senior men's division of the Brandon spiel, Brian Moffatt of Brandon defeated Doug Harrison of Winnipeg's Granite club 6-5 in an extra end final, to earn a total of $3,500. Harrison picked up $2,500; Carl German of East St. Paul ($1,375) and Brian Fowler of Brandon ($1,625) lost in the semi-finals, while Barry Fry of the Granite and Ron Westcott of Fort Rouge were quarter-final losers ($1,000 each)--(all including $125 per round robin win).

Rob Van Kommer's Carberry team (with Kelly Marnoch at fourth, and Evan Reynolds, Ian Scott at second and lead) won the men's division of the GUILD INSURANCE BROKERS OCTOBER CLASSIC last night (Sunday Oct.24th) at the Brandon Curling Club.

Van Kommer earned $3,200 in the final in an 8-end Skins Game format, topping Steve Irwin's Carberry team (with Mike McEwen skipping). Both teams won four skins, but Van Kommer clinched the victory by winning the last three ends. Irwin's foursome picked up $1,800.

In the Senior men's division in Brandon, Doug Armour of Souris won seven straight games and $3,625, including a 7-3 victory over Brandon's Brian Fowler in the final.
